Defending your life
One very basic aspect of living a free life in the big bad world is learning to defend oneself. It seems to me that no consistent libertarian, in trying to practice what he or she preaches, can avoid some practical training in this area. In Britain, mention of such things will trigger off certain reactions. People of a liberty-loving bent will be sympathetic, while those infected by statism will mutter about how one must be some sort of gun-nut or nut, full stop. Well, I guess I am a nutter, since self-defence has interested me for quite a while. I have been trying hard to track down a decent Bujinkan martial arts training centre in London for some time. I briefly trained in the art in California with my good pal Russell Whitaker some years ago and have been trying to find a decent dojo ever since. I have suddenly found at least two places in central London and intend to check em both out and then, if I like what is offered, will join. Here is one of the locations.
Self defence is something that anyone, of pretty much most ages and abilities, ought to be able to do. You don’t have to be built like a proverbial brick outhouse to look after yourself. Sadly, because of Britain’s victim disarmament laws, sorry, gun controls, the most viable means with which even physically frail folk can defend themselves is denied. Martial arts come in many types and forms and some are more for sport and showing off than the practical business of getting out of a tight spot and overpowering an attacker. Bujinkan is definitely worth learning.
I’ll be posting my progress, if any, in the next few weeks.

Good to see our taxes are going to competent editing. Maybe its not politically correct to spell correctly. After all it might be insulting to those who are not properly educated by the state school system.
